Inmate escapes from correctional center

— Police are searching for an escaped inmate in the Beckley area, according to a press release from the Division of Corrections.

Thomas C. Means, 31, was declared missing after a head count Friday morning at the Beckley Correctional Center.

He was originally serving a one-to-15-year sentence for burglary by breaking and entering. Now he’s facing a felony escape charge.

Means is 5-foot-10-inches tall and weighs about 152 pounds. He is a white man with brown hair and blue eyes.

He has scars on his lower left leg and on the back of his neck. He also has several tattoos.

He has “Means” tattooed on the center of his back. On his upper right arm he has “RIP” with a cross and on his stomach he has a tattoo that says “TRU.”

On the right side of his chest he has the phrase “Game Over” tattooed with some cards. On the left side of his chest he has a tattoo that says “Lezlie.” On his upper left arm is the phrase “Only God Can Judge Me.”

Means was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and sweat pants.
