Man found in business allegedly high on drugs

LEWISBURG — One man is behind bars after police allegedly found him high on morphine at a business in Lewisburg, according to the Lewisburg Police Department.

Julian Montgomery, 53, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Police were sent to check on an open-door complaint and found Montgomery inside. It seemed that he was intoxicated, according to a press release.

Officers found a prescription drug bottle with the label ripped off that was sitting on a table next to a burned spoon and several syringes, the press release said.

There was a 60-milligram morphine pill inside the bottle and Montgomery told the officers he had been shooting morphine to get high, according to the release. The prescription didn’t belong to Montgomery, the release said.

The business owner said Montgomery was allowed in the building and was supposed to be cleaning. The owner said he didn’t know about Montgomery’s alleged drug use.

Police are not releasing the name of the business at this time.
