Mabscott couple arrested in Lewisburg

Lewisburg Police Cpl. D.B. Eggleston arrested a Raleigh County couple on various narcotics charges after a routine traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.

David Anthony Basham, 49, and his wife, Karen Sue Basham, 42, of Mabscott were taken into custody after officers found Adderall, oxycodone and amphetamines — all Schedule II controlled substances — as well as diazepam and a substance believed to be heroin, along with various drug paraphernalia, according to Police Chief Tim Stover.

Charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, David Basham was arraigned before Greenbrier County Magistrate Doug Beard and released on $1,000 bond.

Karen Basham was charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance and is lodged in Southern Regional Jail in lieu of $2,000 bond.
