Richard Henry Ames, 23, of Roanoke, Va., was wanted for allegedly robbing the Suntrust Bank in Roanoke Tuesday, U.S. Marshals Public Affairs Officer Christopher Lair said.

Ames fled from a residence in Greenbrier County on Anjean Road Wednesday night and police crews began their search.

U.S. Marshals, West Virginia State Troopers, and the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the search.

Lair said Ames was found on an access road to a strip mine. Ames was also wanted for a probation violation in Chesapeake, Va.
