Shooting call leads to brothers' drug arrest

KIMBALL — Two McDowell County brothers have been charged with felony conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute a scheduled controlled substance.

According to McDowell County Sheriff Martin West, Corey Wilkins and Greg Wilkins, brothers, were arrested on May 3, after deputies responded to a shooting call in the Norwood area of McDowell County.

Upon investigation, the deputies found evidences of drug paraphernalia. A search warrant was issued and a large amount of marijuana was found, packaged for delivery.

West said a small amount of prescription medication was also found at the scene.

The brothers’ bond was set at $2,000. They will be sent to the South Western Regional jail.
