BECKLEY — A Beckley woman pleaded guilty to felony embezzlement and felony falsifying accounts Tuesday in Raleigh County Circuit Court before Judge H.L. Kirkpatrick.

Pamela Ruth Crawford, 58, was employed as an administrative assistant for a local law firm, from March 2007 to May 2010, where she had access to the checking accounts of companies that were clients of the law firm.

Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney Kristen Keller said Crawford pleaded guilty to embezzlement and falsifying accounts, which included failing to make full entries.

Keller said the amounts set forth in the record were $23,990 for one batch of checks and $1,079 for a separate batch.

As part of her plea, Crawford admitted the information was true.

Each of her guilty pleas carries a potential one- to 10-year penitentiary sentence.

Sentencing will be held June 19 at 9 a.m. before Judge Kirkpatrick.
