Police investigating convenience store robbery

Montgomery Police are investigating an early-morning robbery of a local convenience store Monday.

According to Montgomery Police Department Chief John Kauff, an unidentified suspect robbed the 7-Eleven store on Third Avenue around 4:50 a.m., stealing an undisclosed amount of cash.

Kauff said Monday afternoon that the suspect list was “short, very short.”

Police have already made two arrests on unrelated crimes while investigating the 7-Eleven robbery.

Kauff said the search of one suspect’s house turned up property that had been reported stolen in an earlier crime, and a second person of interest was arrested when police discovered that he allegedly possessed cocaine.

More details are expected to be released today.
