Emergency response teams were dispatched Sunday to a two-vehicle accident with multiple injuries on Ragland Road at 4:34 p.m., the Raleigh County Emergency Operation Center confirmed.
The accident occurred in the 500 block of Ragland Road near Bosley Supply Company, the operator said.
Bobby Palmer, public relations officer for Bradley-Prosperity Volunteer Fire Department, said the accident occurred inside a sharp curve when a Mitsubishi SUV and Dodge Ram truck collided head-on.
One patient was extracted from the vehicle with a hydraulic rescue tool, he said.
Two individuals were transported to Raleigh General Hospital, Palmer said.
Part of Ragland Road was shut down for more than an hour and cars were detoured down Grear Lane, he said.
Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department, Jan Care Ambulance, General Ambulance and Bradley-Prosperity Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
Palmer said a large amount of fluids was spilled and the Division of Highways assisted.
The accident is under investigation by the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department.
