OAK HILL —
A Fayette County man was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony receiving or transferring stolen property, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
Corte Dandre Treyon Lawson, 21, of Oak Hill, was taken into custody after police received notification from the Fayette County 911 Center that the vehicle he was driving, which was registered in Georgia, had been reported stolen in Georgia Feb. 9.
After taking him into custody, sheriff’s deputies were notified that Lawson also had an active felony warrant for grand larceny obtained by the Oak Hill Police Department in December 2012.
Lawson was remanded to Southern Regional Jail and is awaiting arraignment in Fayette County Magistrate Court.
Sgt. S.L. Campbell and Deputy A.E. Roberts of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department are still investigating.
