Two arrested, one sought in jewelry theft

BECKLEY — Beckley Police arrested two men for their part in a jewelry theft and are still searching for a third suspect, according to Sgt. David Allard.

A local family hired a contractor to do some work at their home and Allard said at some point, two employees were left alone at the home. The family soon discovered that nearly $10,000 worth of jewelry had been stolen.

After tracking databases and pawn shops, police were able to trace the crime and several pieces of jewelry were recovered.

Christopher William Bryant, 23, is now facing grand larceny charges and his father, Denver Allen Bryant, 62, is facing transferring stolen property charges for taking the jewelry to a pawn shop, police said.

Both Bryants were arrested and transported to Southern Regional Jail Thursday.

Police are still searching for a third suspect, Steven Allen Kesterson, 27, who was also employed by the contractor.

Anyone with more information about this crime is asked to call Beckley Police Department at 304-256-1708 or Crime Stoppers at 304-255-STOP.
