BUD MOUNTAIN — A 25-year-old Herndon woman was killed as the result of an ATV accident Sunday, according to Wyoming County Sheriff Randall Aliff.

Brittany Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene, Aliff said. The accident happened just after 6 p.m. on Bud Mountain, the sheriff said.

Phillips was a passenger on an ATV driven by Barrett Johnson, 32, of Ravencliff. Johnson was transported to Raleigh General Hospital, but his condition was not known Monday, Aliff said.

The investigation is continuing.
