One arrested in stabbing at Lewis Ritchie Apartments

BECKLEY — A 28-year-old Beckley man was arrested after a stabbing incident Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Lewis Ritchie Apartments, according to Beckley Police.

Brandon Omar Booker was arrested and charged with malicious wounding after allegedly stabbing 30-year-old Gregory Brewster.

Ptlmn. J.J. Stewart said Booker and Brewster were having an argument when Booker brandished a knife and stabbed Brewster in the chest.

Brewster was transported to Raleigh General Hospital for treatment. Stewart said he is in stable condition.

Booker is awaiting arraignment at Southern Regional Jail.
