Body identified as man missing since Saturday

A body found on Coal Mountain Road has been identified as a Wyoming County man missing since Saturday, according to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department.

Steven Ray Lawrence, 35, of Long Branch, was found dead on Coal Mountain Road at approximately 3 p.m. Tuesday. He was last seen Saturday between 8 and 10 a.m.

Police are suspecting foul play at this point.

Lt. Randy Brooks said the body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The West Virginia State Police are leading the investigation and have no comment at this time.
