BECKLEY — Beckley Police arrested a Mercer County woman they say attacked another woman with a stun gun in a hotel parking lot.
Tammie Sue Whittaker, 38, of 371 Country Hill Drive, Princeton, is charged with one count of first-degree robbery, one count of felony destruction of property and one count of conspiracy to commit a felony, said Detective Cpl. Sam McClure.
Whittaker, accompanied by family members, turned herself in Monday, McClure said. She was arraigned before Raleigh County Magistrate Steve Massie and released on $50,000 bond.
Other arrests in this case are forthcoming, McClure said.
The incident at the South Eisenhower Drive Microtel was reported after midnight Feb. 14, McClure said. Whittaker and a second female suspect allegedly attacked and robbed a 31-year-old female Mercer County resident in the parking lot.
The suspects, McClure said, used a stun gun to disable the alleged victim. At one point, her purse was taken.
The suspects had apparently done more than $1,000 in various damages to the alleged victim’s 2007 Cadillac Escalade before the attack, McClure said.
Patrolman J.D. Perry was the initial responding officer.
