4 people sentenced in Raleigh court Monday

BECKLEY — Four Raleigh County individuals were sentenced by Judge. H.L. Kirkpatrick Monday in Circuit Court.

David Renick, 48, of Beckley, pleaded guilty to two counts of attempt to commit a felony, delivery of oxycodone.

Renick was sentenced to the penitentiary for two to six years.

John Collins, 34, of Beckley, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit a felony, first degree robbery.

Raleigh County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Andy Dimlich said Collins cased Alice’s II, then left the premises and other male and female came in, brandished a firearm and took $420.

Collins was sentenced to one to five years, to run consecutively with a previous one- to 15-year sentence for a 2006 Raleigh County case.

Athena Grizzle, 28, of Beckley, pleaded guilty to delivery of oxycodone, a schedule II narcotic controlled substance.

She was sentenced to one to 15 years, but her sentence was suspended while she serves two years of probation.

James Blevins, 25, of Lanark, admitted to violating his terms of parole and received 21 days in Southern Regional Jail.

After Blevins completes his sentence, he will return to supervised probation.
