Accident claims one

A Nicholas County man was killed in Kanawha County Monday when his vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole, Kanawha County officials reported Wednesday.

Joey Gene Miller, 34, of Summersville, was driving in Pond Gap when his Chevrolet Blazer crashed into the utility pole at 6259 Bell Creek Road, according to Cpl. B.D. Humphries of the Kanawha Sheriff’s Department. Miller was ejected from the vehicle, and the vehicle landed on him. The accident happened around 5:41 p.m. Deputies and West Virgina State Police troopers responded to the scene. No further information was available Wednesday.
