Man charged in connection with Fayette store break-ins

— Fayetteville Police arrested a local man Friday in connection with breaking and enterings at two businesses.

Joshua Wheeler, 30, was charged with two counts each of breaking and entering, grand larceny and destruction of property for allegedly breaking into Ben Frank-lin department store and New River Antique Mall on Feb. 3, said Fayette-ville Chief M.A. Jefferies.

Wheeler was at Southern Regional Jail Friday under a $50,000 bond.

The incidents remain under investigation by Cpl. C.A. Vickers and Patrolman T.M. Hogan. Additional charges may be filed later, officials reported. Fayette Sheriff’s deputies assisted with the investigation.
