The student’s body is being sent to the state medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death.
“Our deepest sympathies go out to the family of a University of Charleston - Beckley student who was found deceased in her room in Hogan Hall today,” UC President Dr. Ed Welch said Wednesday.
“This is truly a heartbreaking situation for many people. We are meeting with UC - Beckley students, faculty and staff at this time to help them deal with this tragedy. The University will provide further comment, as appropriate, when more information is available.”
