‘Gypsy Wedding’ couple arrested in N.C. for allegedly stealing from bride and groom

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A Princeton couple who appeared on the reality show “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding” is behind bars in North Carolina accused of stealing from a bride and groom.

Eden Brianna Boswell, 22, and Elvis Allen Boswell, 24, are charged with felony larceny after allegedly taking honeymoon cash and rings during a wedding they were attending Sunday, according to a report from the High Point Police Department. Eden Boswell was the maid of honor in the wedding.

The report states that when officers arrived at the wedding, they were told by the bride’s mother that Eden Boswell “had stolen the bride’s purse,” which contained $1,000 in honeymoon money and the bride and groom’s wedding rings.

“Officers located the bride’s purse in the Boswell’s vehicle,” according to the report, which also stated both wedding rings and most of the stolen money was recovered.

During their initial appearance in a High Point courtroom Monday, Fox 8 WGHP reported that the district attorney explained, “Eden Boswell, the defendant, stole the bride’s purse and took it to her truck where her husband Elvis Boswell was waiting. The couple then hid the purse in the back of the truck but accidentally locked themselves out of the truck before Elvis could leave.”

Police asked the Boswells if they could search the truck, according to the FOX 8 report, and they agreed, if police were able to get in the locked vehicle.

“Police were able to get in, much to the suspects’ surprise,’ the D.A. said in court,” FOX 8 reported.

Eden and Elvis Boswell are currently incarcerated at the Guilford County Jail. Bond was set at $6,100, “which was the total value of the items they had stolen,” according to the police report.
