Man accused of slashing tires of city vehicles

A 26-year-old Beckley man was arrested Friday after he admitted to slashing tires on several vehicles, including three belonging to the city, police said.

According to Detective Cpl. Frank Priddy, Rahmon Kincannon of Vance Drive admitted to slashing a single tire on three city vehicles that were parked Tuesday in the lot of the apartment complex where he resides.

Priddy said Kincannon told him he slashed the tires because he did not want the city workers, who were removing snow from the lot of the city-owned complex, on the property.

Kincannon also confessed to slashing a single tire on three other vehicles.

Kincannon was charged with four counts of destruction of property and was being held at Southern Regional Jail on $2,500 bond.
