Four are arrested on methamphetamine charges

SUMMERSVILLE — Nicholas County Sheriff’s deputies arrested four motorists on methamphetamine-related charges Monday following a traffic stop, Sheriff David Hopkins reported.

Police pulled over the car occupied by James Preston McCune, 32, of Maysel; Della Gay Legg, 36, of Clay; Tasha Renae Neal, 29, of Clay; and Kimberly Marie Phillips, 26, of Maysel, at the intersection of Glen Oaks Drive and Peach Orchard Road north of Summersville around 7:30 p.m.

When they searched the vehicle, they discovered numerous items that are commonly used to manufacture meth, Hopkins said.

The three women and the man were each charged with a count of attempting to operate a clandestine meth lab and conspiracy to operate a clandestine meth lab.

They were arrested and transported to Central Regional Jail, according to a release by Hopkins’ office.
