An inmate who escaped from Beckley Correctional facility Monday night was captured by authorities Wednesday evening, according to the West Virginia Division of Corrections.
Joshua Greenwood was serving a five-year sentence for grand larceny at the minimum-security facility and was enrolled in the work-release program. He allegedly had signed back in after leaving on an approved two-hour pass, then later absconded.
Department of Corrections Director Jim Rubenstein said Tuesday that the alleged escape would result in a felony charge against Greenwood, who would have been eligible for parole in July.
