— A man and woman were taken to the hospital after suffering knife wounds just before midnight Monday, police said.

“It wasn’t really a stabbing,” Hinton Police Chief Derek Snavely said. “It was more of a cutting.

“They were in the man’s house on Railroad Avenue. Some type of argument ensued. The events after that are a little unclear. They were both pretty intoxicated.”

Mike Trout, 48, and Della Crawford, 50, both of Hinton, were taken to the hospital by ambulance, Snavely said.

Trout had 1-inch cuts on his chest and arm, along with two cuts on his hand. Crawford had a 3-inch cut on her face. The police are still investigating the incident, Snavely said.
