BECKLEY —
Officials are searching for a 26-year-old man who escaped from the Beckley Correctional Center Sunday night.
Joseph Cody Genet was not present during the midnight inmate count, according to officials.
Genet is described as 6 feet 3 inches tall and 190 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes, multiple tattoos and a 3-inch surgical scar on his inner right forearm.
He was sentenced to one to 15 years for burglary by breaking and entering in Wayne County.
Raleigh County Magistrate Court has issued a warrant for Genet for felony escape. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Beckley Correctional Center at 304-256-6780.
