Woman who died of hypothermia identified

CRAB ORCHARD — Raleigh County Sheriff Steve Tanner has released the name of the woman who died of hypothermia Monday night or Tuesday morning as cold temperatures and storm winds set in.

June Jones, 88, of Crab Orchard, was found Tuesday morning outside her home, Tanner said.

Police said the family believes the woman may have had dementia and sometimes confused night and day. She went out Monday night to sweep leaves and was not dressed for the cold.
