MABSCOTT — A spokesman for the Town of Mabscott said Monday that a house in the 100 block of Pine Street has been condemned and turned over to state agencies for further action due to methamphetamine contamination.

Chemicals used in the production of meth were discovered in the house when police arrested an unidentified male resident of the home on unrelated charges Saturday, the spokesman said.

He added that police have “taped off” the house and that chemicals in the residence could be dangerous to children and pets that wander onto the property.

The house doesn’t present an explosion hazard at present, he added.

Neighbors should make sure small children and pets don’t go on the property, he cautioned.
