Grand jury indictments include murder charge

BECKLEY — One indictment for first degree murder led the true bills returned this week by the January term of the Raleigh County grand jury.

Donald Blaine Moore, 46, of Sundial was indicted on the charge for the September 2012 death of James Williams, 42, of Artie.

At the time, police said the two were involved in a Sept. 16 altercation inside Hillbilly Tavern in Rock Creek. The fight moved outside and witnesses reported Williams was shot by Moore.

A motion for bond for Moore was denied in November and he remains lodged in the Southern Regional Jail.

Among other indictments handed down were a litany of drug violations, robberies, DUIs and sexual assault and abuse.
