Two wrecks with injuries reported in Raleigh

Raleigh County Emergency Operations Center handled two motor vehicle accidents with injuries between 5 and 6 p.m. Saturday.

The first accident occurred just after 5 p.m. on Ritter Drive near the Tank Branch Road intersection in Glen Morgan, said the official.

According to 911 dispatch, this was a single-vehicle accident rollover.

Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, Beaver Fire Department and Jan-Care Ambulance responded.

One individual was transported to Raleigh General Hospital.

The second accident, involving two vehicles, was reported at 5:34 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Ragland Road and North Eisenhower Drive, said the dispatcher. Beckley Police Department, Beckley Fire Department and Jan-Care Ambulance responded to the scene.

Though the second accident was reported to have injuries, 911 had not confirmed a transport by 6 p.m.

Raleigh grand jury hands down 89 indictments
The mother and stepfather accused in the death of a 2-year-old boy were among the 89 indictments handed down by the Raleigh County Grand Jury.
Brandy Smallwood, 28, and James Green, 24, both of Fairdale, were charged Feb. 10 in connection with the death of 2-year-old Graydon Morgan.
Green was indicted for first degree murder, death of a child by child abuse, child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury, child neglect resulting in death and child neglect resulting in serious bodily injury.
The indictment against Smallwood if for death of a child by child abuse, child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury, child neglect resulting in death and child neglect resulting in serious bodily injury.
