Two men were sentenced and one other entered a guilty plea in Raleigh County Circuit Court Thursday before Judge Robert A. Burnside.
Jason Williams Pafford, 30, pleaded guilty to breaking and entering and felony conspiracy to commit a felony.
Raleigh County Assistant Prosecutor Tom Truman said Pafford broke into a grocery store, stole cigarettes and then sold them to a friend. A police investigation found the friend was not involved with the crime and filed charges against Pafford.
Pafford was also involved in stealing metal from a company in Daniels, Truman said, and then selling the metal to Barker’s Junk Co. in Mabscott.
Burnside sentenced Pafford to one to 10 years for breaking and entering and one to five years for conspiracy to commit a felony to be served concurrently.
-----
Diego Alberto Rodriguez Sanchez, 21, pleaded guilty to felony delivery of heroin, a schedule 1 narcotic controlled substance.
Burnside sentenced him to serve one to 15 years in a confined correctional facility, but that order is suspended while Sanchez is placed on probation for eight months.
Sanchez was also ordered to enroll in a rehabilitation program and pay $500 restitution for the costs of the prosecution.
-----
Ismael Jimenez Pascual, 38, pleaded guilty to felony possession of a firearm by a prohibited carrier.
Truman said Pascual was initially stopped by Beckley Police for speeding, then they found Pascual was in possession of marijuana and a firearm.
Pascual had been convicted of a felony in Bland, Va., and was therefore no longer allowed to possess a firearm.
His sentencing will be held March 15 before Judge Burnside.
