A citizen’s tip led Ronceverte police to arrest a Virginia man Wednesday in Greenbrier County.
Ronceverte Police Department Chief J.R. Byer Jr. reported that a citizen contacted him to report that Adam Lee Cieniewicz, 25, of Chesapeake, Va., was at a home on Lewisburg Avenue in Ronceverte and allegedly had a “number of drugs” in possession.
Byer, assisted by Sgt. J.F. Bowyer, drove to the house and performed a search. They discovered a cooler that contained around 7 grams of crack cocaine, 13 grams of powder cocaine, 188 generic prescription anti-anxiety pills and digital scales.
Police also discovered a can of acetone, which is often used in making “crack” cocaine, Byer reported.
Witnesses at the house told police the cooler belonged to Cieniewicz, he added.
Cieniewicz was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver a Schedule II narcotic and one count of possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver a Schedule IV narcotic.
He was arraigned before Greenbrier Magistrate Doug Beard and was remanded to Southern Regional Jail in lieu of a $15,000 bond.
Bowyer is also a member of the Greenbrier County Drug Task Force, Byer reported.
