The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department will conduct increased patrols and sobriety checkpoints throughout September. The focus of the patrols will be to identify impaired drivers under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Officers will also be looking for revoked and/or suspended drivers and any traffic and highway safety related violations of law.
The grant for the checkpoints is awarded through the West Virginia Commission on Drunk Driving Prevention.
