Two Fayette County men were arrested over the weekend, accused of both grand larceny and breaking and entering involving bicycles and vehicles in Fayetteville, Fayetteville Police Capt. S.D. Parsons announced Monday.
Aaron W. Hornsby, 18, of Scarbro, and Terry T. Maxey, 19, of Oak Hill, were charged with stealing two bicycles worth a total of $2,500 and breaking into vehicles in the city, Parsons explained.
The men were each charged with one count of grand larceny, and Parsons said that the number of breaking and entering charges is still being determined. Police estimate that the pair broke into approximately 10 vehicles and stole cash and loose change.
The incident was investigated by Parsons with assistance from Oak Hill Police Sgt. J.L. Kirk, along with Sgt. B.L. Mankins and Senior Trooper C.L. Adkins of the Oak Hill detachment of State Police.
As of Monday evening, both suspects were still incarcerated at Southern Regional Jail — Maxey on $8,000 bond and Hornsby on $10,000 bond, said Parsons.
