A Bradley woman was sentenced to spend 54 months behind bars for her role in heroin distribution.
Miranda Bowyer, 24, of Bradley, was sentenced in federal court in Beckley Monday for her June 2008 guilty plea, admitting she aided and abetted in possessing heroin for distribution.
According to court records, on Aug. 21, 2007, a vehicle in which Bowyer and a second person were traveling from New Jersey to Beckley was found to contain approximately eight grams of heroin.
Bowyer admitted to making trips to New Jersey to obtain the drugs, which were then distributed in the Beckley area.
The Beckley Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration investigated.
