Omar Lorenzo Thompson, 25, of Beckley, faces up to 15 years in prison after he pleaded guilty in Raleigh County Circuit Court Thursday to delivery of a controlled substance, cocaine base.
Assistant prosecutor Tom Truman said Thompson was recorded by Beckley Police on Sept. 29, 2006, receiving $100 for one-half gram of cocaine base.
Thompson, who is currently being held in Southern Regional Jail, will be sentenced Sept. 3 at 11 a.m.

Also Thursday, Judge H.L. Kirkpatrick ordered a 22-year-old Oceana man to jail after he was returned as “unfit” from the Anthony Correctional Center for youthful offenders.
Steven Eric Blankenship was sent to Anthony in April, when Kirkpatrick suspended a one- to 10-year sentence for a grand larceny conviction.
“You didn’t intend to abide by the rules,” Kirkpatrick said of Blankenship’s behavior at Anthony. “You washed out of the program without giving it a good try.”
