A Greenbrier County man was placed on probation for 18 months for selling drugs.
Ricky Allen Taylor, 55, of Rupert, was indicted last October on three counts of selling morphine to a confidential informant in a sting coordinated by the Greenbrier County Drug Task Force, according to court documents. Taylor sold morphine patches to an informant for $100 each on three separate occasions.
Taylor pleaded guilty to one count of delivery of a controlled substance and prosecutors asked the court to dismiss the remaining two counts of the indictment.
Chief Judge James J. Rowe sentenced Taylor on Monday to one to 15 years in prison, but immediately suspended that sentence and placed the defendant on 18 months’ probation.
Court documents indicated Taylor had been given a medical prescription for the morphine patches.
