Beckley police say a driver who struck another car head-on fled the scene on foot, leaving no license plate on the car.
Around 11:30 p.m. Monday, Keesha L. Thompson, 23, of Beckley, was driving a 2000 GMC Jimmy uphill in a parking lot near Willbrian Apartments on Ewart Avenue, Lt. Cheri Mullens said. Someone driving a 1994 Cadillac then drove downhill and at a high rate of speed.
Thompson told police the Cadillac driver was “taking over the whole road,” then hit her head-on, Mullens said. Multiple occupants of the Cadillac then fled on foot.
No injuries were reported, Mullens said. Someone also took the license plate off the Cadillac and any type of personal information.
Patrolman Jeremy Young is the investigating officer, Mullens said.
