Authorities say alcohol was involved in a single-vehicle accident that resulted in one man being flown via HealthNet to Charleston Area Medical Center and another being transported to Plateau Medical Center.
Glen Huffman III, 33, of Oak Hill, was charged with aggravated DUI Friday, authorities said.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, Huffman was driving a Chevrolet Corsica on W.Va. 61 in the Kincaid area around 3 p.m. when the vehicle left the roadway and impacted with a tree, doing substantial damage to the vehicle.
Huffman was ejected from the vehicle and two unidentified male passengers were trapped inside the vehicle.
Both had to be extricated by firefighters on the scene.
The condition of the two passengers was not known.
Huffman was arraigned before a Fayette County magistrate and was taken to Plateau Medical Center for the treatment of unspecified injuries prior to being remanded to Southern Regional Jail.
The sheriff’s department, Oak Hill and Loup Creek fire departments and Jan-Care Ambulance responded to the scene.
The accident remains under investigation by Deputies J.M. Pack and N.D. Hall.
