YMCA Golf Outing slated for June 20

From Staff Reports

— Area golfers are wanted for the 16th Annual YMCA Golf Outing June 20 at Grandview Country Club.

“This is a great way to spend West Virginia Day,” said Jenni Canterbury, Y marketing director and tournament organizer. “As we observe West Virginia’s 150th birthday this year, we’re also celebrating the Y’s 50 years of service to the Beckley area, which is made possible by support from our community.”

Held rain or shine, the outing kicks-off with registration and lunch at noon followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The four-person scramble is limited to the first 25 teams registered. The cost is $440 per foursome and includes lunch, refreshments, green fees, carts, dinner and drawings for door prizes.

Hole sponsorship opportunities are available for $200, or $100 if purchased with the entry of a foursome.

Awards will be presented to the top finishing teams and skill prizes will be awarded to individuals for a hole-in-one, the longest drive for both men and women, closest to the pin and longest putt holed.

Proceeds from the event benefit the YMCA of Southern West Virginia’s Youth Programs.

Registration forms are available at the YMCA of Southern West Virginia and on the YMCA Web site, www.ymcaswv.com.
