Miners drop 3-0 decision to Chillicothe

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The West Virginia Miners could muster just four singles and no runs off of the Chillicothe pitchers as the Miners fell 3-0 Wednesday in the opening game of a two game set.

The win was Chillicothe’s fourth in a row and breaks a two-game win streak for the Miners.

The Paints were led by Zac Mathie who blasted a home run in the fourth inning and Daniel Zuchowski with an RBI double in the fifth.

The loss drops the Miners into a tie for first place with the Paints in the Eastern Division race.

The Miners look to recapture the division lead tonight in a rematch starting at 7:05 p.m.
