LORAIN, OHIO —
Nate Langhals singled home Scott Splett with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to cap a four-run rally for Lorain County and defeat the West Virginia Miners Friday 7-6.
Will Thomas pitched six strong innings for the Miners giving up just two runs on three hits, while Brandon Koch and Griffin Moore each had three hits apiece in the heartbreaking loss.
Langhals finished with three hits for the Ironmen, including a double.
West Virginia returns home to the friendly confines of Linda K. Epling Stadium tonight to host the Butler Blue Sox.
