Winter continues and the bemoaning of the steady precipitation we’ve been receiving — in the form of snow, sleet, ice, freezing rain, rain — has plenty of people fit to be tied.
Sure seems to us to be a case of global warming that’s settled in during the past two months.
More snow, sleet, ice and rain are pummeling most of the country east of the Mississippi River — again.
Schools, churches, businesses, you name it, all are operating on unusual schedules. Nerves are frayed. Patience is wearing thin. Threats have been issued against groundhogs that just predicted an early spring.
The weather seemingly has just taken over and overwhelmed many people’s lives of late.
But rest assured, seasons in the sun aren’t far away.
Stay calm, and try not to be so grouchy and/or depressed. Slow down and quit trying to race from place to place when road conditions are hazardous. Exercise common sense and be courteous. Spring really is coming.
And now that the threat of an H1N1 epidemic has essentially passed, wouldn’t it be great to catch a dose of spring fever — you know, that feeling of restlessness, excitement or laziness brought on by the coming of the vernal equinox.
It won’t be long until we’re hearing about how hot it is. Really. We promise.
