Sharon Star Allen

Sharon Star Allen, 60, of Beckley, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012.

Graveside rites and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity with Pastor Phil Farrington officiating. There will be no visitation.

Ada Forren Burns

RONCEVERTE — Ada Forren Burns, 92, passed away Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at the Longanacre Funeral Home Chapel, Fairlea, with Pastor Mike Estep officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Park Cemetery, Second Creek. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the funeral home.

Larry Leamon Cook Jr.

Larry Leamon Cook, Jr., age 51, of Coal City, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a short illness.

Born September 13, 1961, in Beckley, WV, to Larry L. Cook, Sr., and Rachel Edwards Cook of Coal City.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 30 years, Mrs. Jean Ann Cook, at home; son, Larry L. Cook, III, of Coal City; brother, Scotty Cook and wife Tabatha of Beckley; brother-in-law, Lawrence Garris of Coal City; and a nephew Logan Cook.

Services to celebrate the life of Larry will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Chapel in Beckley with Pastor Rick Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park on Harper Road in Beckley.

The gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Lawrence Garris, Randy Martin, Brady Lilly, Allen Edwards, Eddie Patton, and William Bubby Norris.

Friends may call from 12 to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral chapel.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to The Miners Club of Coal City and Randy Martin and his family.
