Laurie Ann Furrow Drennen
PEMBERTON — Laurie Ann Furrow Drennen, 42, of Pemberton, was granted her angel wings on January 4, 2013. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family that she loved dearly.
She was born September 25, 1970, in Madison, W.Va. Throughout her life she touched many people with her giving heart, and kindred spirit. She had a beautiful smile that would light up any room. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her children and grandchildren.
Laurie was preceded in death by her father Jack Furrow; three grandfathers, James Tunset, James Barnes, and Roy Douglas; two grandmothers, Gertrude Barnes and Mabel Tunget.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her husband, Hershel Drennen; two sons, Joshua Furr and Justin Sullivan; one daughter, Ashlee O’neil; five grandchildren, Levi, Addison, Chance, Ethan, and Laurianna; Mother, Bonnie Furrow Mason; two sisters, Jackline Fields and Shellie Almond; one grandmother who always cared for her, Velma Furrow Douglas; nieces and nephews, Amanda, BJ, Amber, and Christian; and many friends.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel, with Bishop Clarence Lee officiating and Rev. Jody Almond assisting.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
In keeping with Laurie’s wishes she will be cremated after the services.

Sadie Wanda Hankins
On Friday, January 4th, 2013, our most loved, Sadie Wanda Hankins, of Lampasas, Texas, formerly of Beckley, passed away at her home in Lampasas. She was in her 76th year.
The youngest of six children, Sadie was born on January 8th, 1936, in Olive Hill, Ky. She was the daughter of the late George Washington and Daisy Henderson Baker. A brother, Lavern Baker, and a sister, Ermal Gray, have preceded Sadie in death.
Sadie spent her early years at Arnett. In 1952, she would marry Dallas Hankins. To this union were born four children, Wanda Lillian Buchner of Lampasas, Shelia Quakenbush and her husband, Kenneth, of Lometa, Texas, Steven Hankins of Summerville, S.C., and Timothy Hankins and his wife, Mona, of Danese; Dallas died in July of 1976. Sadie was proud “Granny” of 11 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; the fond sister of Verna “Peggy” Manning of Beckley, Betty Moxley of Bethany Beach, Del., and Bessie Jellison of Bluffton, Ind.; several nieces and nephews survive as well.
Sadie was loved by her family and will be sorely missed.
On Wednesday, January 9th, at 1 p.m. we will remember the life of this dear lady with a “Service of Remembrance” at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Paul Zutaut will be officiating. Sadie will be laid to rest beside her beloved Dallas in the Sunset Memorial Park.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
