Charlotte W. Sheppard, 101, of Charmco, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Smathers Funeral Chapel. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at the funeral home.

Melissa Dorthea Sizemore
Melissa Dorthea Sizemore, 53, of Mabscott, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, following a long illness.
Born April 1, 1959, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Garland Sizemore and Ruby Spears Hanks. Melissa was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Sizemore and brothers, Damon Sizemore and Garland Sizemore, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Amber and April Sizemore of Mabscott; brothers, Samuel Sizemore and wife Marlene of Daniels, W.Va, Daniel Sizemore and wife Kat of Hamptonville, N.C., Kenneth Sizemore and his wife Sissy of Daniels, W.Va., Timothy Sizemore and wife Seretha of Odd, W.Va., Paul Sizemore and wife Carla of Charlotte, N.C.; sisters, Drema Hensley and husband Clifford of Crab Orchard, W.Va., Vanna Ellis of Sophia, W.Va., Sharon Bland of Daniels, W.Va., Melinda Farris of Coal City, W.Va. and an aunt, Pauline Akers and husband Baxter of Cool Ridge, W.Va.
Services will be 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012. in the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel.

Helen Ludwig Stone
Helen Ludwig Stone, age 94, of The Villages At Greystone, in Beaver, W.Va., died quietly early Saturday morning, December 15, 2012, in the comfort of her own room at Greystone Inn.
Born August 7, 1918 in Mooresville of Iredell County, North Carolina, Helen Ludwig Stone, was the daughter of the late George G. and Florence Gibbs Ludwig.
Preceded in death by both of her brothers, SF and George Ludwig Jr. and her sister Sarah Ludwig Stone, Helen was the last member of her generation. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Alexander D. Debnam…as well as by both of her husbands, Robert O. Debnam in 1962 and Ashton K. Stone in 2004.
Always a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother…Helen joyfully welcomed each new addition to the family with all of her love. As a life long Presbyterian…she always enjoyed worshipping her Lord,…most recently as a member of Beckley Presbyterian Church … and as the mother of the ‘preacher’ of the Bramwell Presbyterian Church. An avid bridge player all of her adult life, she and her son looked forward each Monday to playing duplicate bridge at the Beckley Woman’s Club.
Survivors include her son, Robert W. “Robin” Debnam and wife Peggy of Beckley; her granddaughter Carmi Debnam Farrell and husband Rob of Ft. Mill S.C.; her step son, Pete Stone; her step granddaughter, Melissa Gainey Goodwin of Scotland County, N.C.; her step grandsons, Brad Gainey and wife Kira of Baltimore Md., and Carlton Gainey of Raleigh, N.C. and Marty Stone of Colorado, as well as her seven great grandchildren.
The Memorial: A Service Of Witness to the Resurrection will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Beckley Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend Mr. John McKinnon officiating. Visitation with the family will be at the church during the hour prior to worship. There will be no burial as Helen donated her body to the WV School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, W.Va.
