Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at Smathers Funeral Chapel. Friends may call one hour before the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Steven Lee Brown
WEST LAKE, Ohio — Steven Lee Brown, 36, of West Lake, passed away Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012.
Arrangements are pending completion at Rose and Quesenberry, 1901 S. Kanawha St., Beckley.
Michael D. Cadle
Michael Dale Cadle, 40, of Beckley and Helen, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2012, in a Charleston hospital.
Born December 6, 1971, at Mullens, he was the son of Fred Cadle Jr. of Helen and Debbie Reed Smith of Beartown.
Michael was a former employee of Asplundh and John’s Tree Service as a tree climber.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Freeman and Opal Reed; paternal grandparents, Fred Cadle Sr. and Betty Jean Cadle; one sister, Theresa Cadle; and a brother, Greg Cadle.
Those left to cherish his memory include his four children, Caitlyn Palmer, Christina Cadle, Elizabeth Cadle, and Michael Cadle; his father, Fred Cadle Jr.; stepmother, Carol Cadle; his mother, Debbie Reed Smith; stepdad, Mike Smith; and two brothers, Bobby (B.J.) Anderson and Billy Cadle.
Services will be 12 noon Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Madeline Freewill Baptist Church, Amigo, with Rev. Slate and Rev. Bolen officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis Graham Cemetery, Basin.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Rodger Dale Canterbury Sr.
Rodger departed this life on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at the Hospice House following a short illness.
Born November 12, 1959, in Beckley, he was the son of the late Dorothy Allen and Robert Canterbury Sr.
Rodger worked his entire life as an auto body laborer. He was an avid scholar of the Bible. He will be remembered for his compassion of religion and computers, as well as his love for his family and friends.
Rodger was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dayton Canterbury, and daughter-in-law Valerie Canterbury.
Survivors include his ex-wife and mother of his children, Patricia Canterbury Grogen; three sons, Rodger Jr., David (Tiffney) and Steven Canterbury; four grandchildren, Johnny, Jordan, Andromeda and David Canterbury Jr.; four brothers, Robert Jr. (Ina), Eddie (Karen), Terry and William (Pamela) Canterbury; four sisters, Patricia (Bob) Pickerd, Kathy Caldwell, Eve (George) Johnson, and Cammie Simple.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley. Burial will follow at Old Wims Cemetery, Pax.
Friends may gather with the family Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
