Robert Rufus ‘Lytleman’
Robert Rufus “Lytleman,” April 3, 1931 – December 10, 2012, has gone to Heaven to be with his true love, Betty Rufus.
Robert was a great man, good friend and a wonderful father.
He leaves behind five children, Dennis Ellison and wife Joan, Debra, Cheryl Hall and husband Raymond, Robert Rufus Jr. and wife Rae, Tammie Ferrell and husband James; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Violet, Bessie and Jackie; two brothers, Mickey and Jimmy Lee; his good friend, Fred Cradle and wife Carol; his best friend, companion, pride and joy, Carmen; and all the friends he had because he always said no one was a stranger.
Robert was so full of life and love. He was always there and would always reach out to help anyone regardless of what it was. Robert will always be remembered as “Lytleman” even though he was such a big man in so many ways. Robert was 81 but remained 18 in his heart and soul. He will be greatly missed and will remain in all of our hearts.
In keeping with Robert’s wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

As the sun came up on Sunday morning, Dec. 9th, 2012, our most loved, Pat Ryan slipped into eternity, peacefully, and free of pain, into that “Peace that passeth understanding.”
The first of three daughters, Patrician Ann Worley was born on June 14th, 1950, at Beckley. She was 62 years of age. Affectionately known as “Pat” all her life she was the beloved daughter of Yvonne Canaday Worley Statzer of Lester.
Pat spent her childhood at Lester, graduating from Trap Hill High School, Class of 1968. On January 16, 1968, she would marry her soul mate and her life- long friend, Roger Ryan. “Oh Love that Will Not Let Me Go.” Pat and Roger have been blessed with a good life. They made their home on Posey Saxon Road for many years, where Pat loved to four wheel, garden, and raise roses.
To Pat and Roger’s union was born two children, Jeffrey Shannon and Lisa Michelle. The family has worked together for many years at their family business, Dynasty Hydraulic & Machine LTD at Glen Daniel. Jeffrey is married to Melissa, they reside in Beckley, Lisa and her life partner, Missie make their home in Bradley. Pat was the beloved “Maw Maw’ to Aaron, Ashley (Kyle Thompson), Matthew and Tori; the proud great grandmother of Karmyn; the dear sister to Sara Manning and her husband, Nathan of Lake Stephens and Nancy Newman of Lester. Pat’s extended family survives, she was the fond sister-in-law to Loudema Wills and her husband Bob, Darlena Bragg and her husband, Paul; the sweet aunt to several nieces and nephews. Pat had many friends, among them were Linda and Judy Bailey, Janie Henderson and her “Spirit Sister,” Janet Sharp. Not to be forgotten were Pat’s feline friends, Macy and Bindi. Along the way, people who Pat cherished have passed away, her father, Robert Worley, her mother-in-laws, Garnet Covey and Naomi Ryan; fathers-in-law, Ronald Ryan and Weir Covey; her sister-in-law, Ronetta Frye and her husband, Charles.
Pat was an individual of deep introspection. She loved her private time. She immensely enjoyed going to the movies alone. She was thoughtful and very open minded. She has so enjoyed visiting New Orleans where her grandson, Aaron goes to college. She loved adventure. We her family know, “Her body may have been broken by the breast cancer that ravaged her, but nothing could break her spirit. God has called her home but nothing will ever replace the love she left in our hearts.”
And so now we must say goodbye to this unique spirit. “We are relieved your suffering has ended. But to us who loved and knew you, you will live on.”
“Out beyond ideas of wrong doing and right doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.” Jalal ad-Din Rumi
