Linda Faye Bowers

SWEET SPRINGS — Linda Faye Bowers, 66, of Sweet Springs, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery at Sweet Springs. 

Friends may call at the Groves Funeral Home in Union from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013.

Groves Funeral Home in Union is in charge of arrangements.

Steve Cline

Steve Cline, 67, of Glen Daniel, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013.

Arrangements are pending with Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5251 Robert C. Byrd Dr., Beckley.

Tracy Dale Cooper

RAINELLE — Tracy Dale Cooper, 68, of Rainelle, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, September 6, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Inc.

Friends may call one hour before the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sue Carol Cox

Sue Carol Cox, 78, of Beckley, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Division following an extended illness.

Born August 9, 1935 in Beckley to the late Joseph A. Cox and Nellie Grimmett Cox.

Sue was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1953 and also Concord College in 1978 majoring in Elementary Education and Library Science. She also served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict; a proud member of the American Legion Post 32 in Beckley. She was also an elementary teacher for Shady Spring Elementary. Later in life, Sue taught piano out of her home to many people in the area and also she volunteered and worked as a LPN at the VA Hospital in Beckley. She was also a member of the Crab Orchard Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include her brothers, Joseph F. Cox and wife Janice of New Albany, Ohio and Anthony C. Cox and wife Judy of St. Park, Minnesota; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Chapel in Beckley with Pastor Mike Sisson officiating and also the American Legion Post 32 Honor Guard will perform military graveside rites. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family for visitation on Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
