Mary Delores Lijo Campbell
Mary Delores Lijo Campbell, 74, daughter of the late Eunice and Santiago Lijo of Shady Spring, WV, died November 1, 2013.
Delores received a B.A. degree in Education from WV State College in Institute and taught in Putnam County until her retirement. She served on the state executive board of the AFT and was the local treasurer for several years.
She is survived by three sons, David Howard Reed and his wife Rebecca, Stephen Eric Bias and Jeffery Allen Bias; four grandsons, Jeremy Reed, Colton Reed, Wesley Bias and Tyler Bias; and one great-granddaughter, Lindsey Reed. Also surviving are two sisters, Barbara Watkins of Annapolis, MD, and Rosalita Lijo of Virginia Beach, VA.
Graveside service will be noon Thursday, November 7, 2013, at Sunset Memorial Park, 1925 Harper Road, Beckley, WV 25801.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, WV 25526.

Craig Russell Clay, 35, of Shady Spring, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at his home.
Born on December 12, 1977, in Rochester, N.Y., he was the son of Roscoe Rex Clay and Linda Irene Suskie.
Craig is survived by his daughter, Kadie N. Clay; his mother, Linda I. Suskie and his father Roscoe R. Clay. Also his two brothers, Roscoe R. Clay Jr. and William M. Clay; their wives, Sabrina Clay and Tammy Clay; his sister-in-law, Tiffany Bowyer and her husband Jerry Bowyer; six nephews, Brett M. Osborne, Roscoe C. Osborne, Seth L. Clay, William M. Clay II, Adrian A. Clay and Gray Bowyer; four nieces, Alicia Rutledge, Kayla Plumley, Gabrielle N. Clay and Emma Bowyer; also several loving aunts and uncles and the mother of his daughter, Melissa Stafford.
Craig was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, Roscoe Clay, William Suskie and his special grandfather, Bobby Vance; his two grandmothers, Margie Clay and Betty Suskie.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor Charles Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Gerldean ‘Gerry’ Hewitt Fisher
Gerldean “Gerry” Hewitt Fisher, 73, of Beckley, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 2, 2013.
Born on March 28, 1940, in Marshall County W.Va., she was the daughter of the late C. Wiley and Elsie Hewitt.
Gerry was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and retiree from Hills Department Store. She enjoyed quilting, bowling and quality time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Nellie Hill, brother Leroy Hewitt and a son-in-law, Mike Meadows, Sr..
Survivors include her beloved husband of 56 years, Roger Fisher Sr.; daughters, Cindy Lilly and husband Kenn, Becky Fondale and husband Wes, Cherrie Meadows, Beverly Tolliver and companion John Lafferty and Lori Thompson and husband Tommie; son, Roger “Butch” Fisher and wife Judy; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren with one on the way; sister, Marie Kidd; brothers, Clarence, Paul and Dale Hewitt and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Calfee Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Beverly and Wes Fondale officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Helen Marie Maddy Helms
HINTON — Helen Marie Maddy Helms, 94, of Hinton, went to Heaven on Sunday, November 3, 2013.
Born February 28, 1919, at War Ridge, Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel Kenna and Lou Esta Shumate Maddy.
Helen was a graduate of Talcott High School, class of 1938, and the French Beauty School in Bluefield, W.Va. She was an active member of Bellepoint Baptist Church in Hinton as long as her health permitted, having been a former Sunday school teacher. She was also known for always being a witness for the Lord. She was also a former president of the PTA at Bellepoint Elementary School. Helen was renowned for her lovely flowers and her many hand-crafted quilts she made and gave to others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Julian Helms; two sisters, Mary Grove and Blanche Thompson; three brothers, Woodrow, Frank and Leonard Maddy and son-in-law, Ken Holland.
Helen is survived by a loving family which includes daughters, Sharon (Charlie) Gilkerson, Nancy Holland, Martha (Ron) Spangler and Sara Helms. Son, Dan (Vicky) Helms. One sister, Clara Pack. She is also survived by grandchildren, Tim Holland, Greg Gilkerson, Julie Laury, Ronnie Spangler, Mike Spangler, Jessica Williams and Benjamin Helms; 16 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastors Butch Honaker and Chris Price officiating. Interment will follow in Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Nancy J. Janutolo
SMYRNA, Tenn. — Nancy J. Janutolo passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at the age of 79 in Smyrna.
She is survived by son, Dan M. Janutolo II, his wife, Katherine L. Janutolo; daughter Melissa L. Robertson; grandchildren Tracy Bramel, April Wright, Ginette Brown, Nancy Giansante, Courtney Letema, Ashley Robertson, and Michael Robertson; eight great-grandchildren and sisters Deloris Taylor of Plano, Texas and Ruth Ann Gardner of Peoria, Ariz.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Janutolo, was the daughter of Paul and Ruth Ash, and was preceded in death by husband Lt. Col. Dan M. Janutolo.
She is a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School (Beckley, W.Va.) and West Virginia University.
She was an active military officer’s wife for 23 years, performing various duties ranging from being a member of Mamie Eisenhower’s staff to chairing numerous organizations supporting enlisted military dependents.
Mrs. Janutolo was a long standing member of First Baptist Church in Beckley, WV, where she was a Sunday School teacher, member of the Lizzie Lewis Circle, Chaplain and president of the Gideon’s Auxiliary Beckley Camp, as well as other duties in service to Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Mrs. Janutolo lived with her son, Dan and daughter in law, Katherine in Smyrna for the last nine years, enjoying her retirement as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
A public viewing will be held Monday, November 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Smyrna, Tenn.
A gravesite service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 5, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

OAK HILL — Jimmie C. Souder, 78, of Oak Hill, passed away Nov. 4, 2013 following a short illness.
He was born in Mabscott, W.Va. on Sept. 9, 1935, to the late Hallie and Easter Souder
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Phyllis and Linda.
Jimmie was a retired coal miner from Siltex Mine in Mt Hope, W.Va. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in the Korean War. He was a member of the NRA, the United States Bowling Congress, attended North Sand Branch Worship Center. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 54 years Verna Souder; two sons, Timothy Souder and wife Jackie of Seneca, S.C., Pastor Ken Souder and wife Sandra of Prosperity; daughter, Terri Souder of Oak Hill; two grandsons, Ryan Souder of Columbus, Ohio and Jared Souder of Oak Hill.
Service will be 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at High Lawn Funeral Chapel, Oak Hill, with Pastor Mickey Mitchell and Pastor Ken Souder officiating. Burial will follow Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill.

James Dewey ‘Jim’ Turner
James Dewey “Jim” Turner, age 72, of Beckley, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013, at the Beckley VA Medical Center.
Born on July 24, 1941, in Beckley, he was the son of the late Dewey Turner and Thelma Maude Sweeney Turner.
Mr. Turner was a retired electrician for the Consolidated Coal Mines at Clear Creek. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. Mr. Turner was a member of the Maxwell Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, car shows, particularly corvettes.
He was preceded in death by two sisters Louise Turner and Edith Tilley.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Diane Gervais Turner. Children, Angela Turner and her companion Joe Bair of Bradley, Brian Turner and his wife Cyl of Richmond, Va., Matthieu Turner and his wife Brandi of Mount Hope. Sisters, Margie Heron of High Springs, Fla., Janet O’Dell of Ravenna, Ohio, Betty Hurts of Cambridge, Ohio, Peggy Hoosier of Lexington, N.C., Linda Broemsen of Concord, N.C. and Gloria Curry and her husband George of Prosperity. Grandchildren: Ashlee Benoit, Bretton Turner and Brynlee Grace Turner. Great-grandchildren: Max McGhee, and Lily Benoit. Many nieces and nephews who will miss Jim dearly also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Maxwell Hill Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ken Killen officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church.

MULLENSVILLE — Kevin Arnold Webb, 53, of Mullensville, near Pineville, went to live with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at CAMC General Division, Charleston, W.Va.
Born December 7, 1959, at Pineville, he was the son of Elmer M. Webb Jr. of Brenton and the late Anna J. Spence Webb.
Kevin attended Baileysville High School. He enjoyed playing the piano and he sang for the Webb Family Gospel Singers. He was dearly loved by his family, children and his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, Anna J. Spence Webb, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Arnold (Clorie Mae) Spence and his paternal grandparents, Elmer M. (Mattie L.) Webb Sr.
Survives include his father, Elmer M. Webb Jr.; his former wife and mother of his children, Tange Kinser; two daughters, Leanna (Jeffrey) Adams of Mullensville and Alyssa D. Webb of Pineville; a son, Kevin Alexander Webb of Mullensville, W.Va.; a sister, Marsha (Dwayne) Riffe of Ballard; a brother, Mike (Gail) Webb of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Jayden Santana Adams and Callie Elizabeth Webb; and two grandsons, Kevin Josiah Adams and Braylen McKennith Adams.
A celebration of Kevin’s life will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2013, in the Calfee Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Knotts officiating. Entombment will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
