Easter Mae Cook Lusk

OCEANA — Easter Mae Cook Lusk went to be with the Lord, and join her husband, Carless, on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at her home. Her daughter Nancy was by her side.

She was born April 16, 1933, in Cyclone, W.Va.; she was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County. She was the daughter of the late Anthony Cook and Susie Conway Cook.

Easter was a retired school teacher; she taught for the Wyoming County Board of Education for several years. She was a member of the Oceana United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was a proud member of the United Methodist Women. She was very active in all church and community functions.

Easter loved people, life and serving her Lord. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister. She will forever be remembered for all the lives she has touched as a teacher, friend, church and community member.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Carless Lusk and several brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Nancy Rust and her husband, Rick, of White Sulphur Springs, Debbie Hall and husband, Ron, of Oceana; a son, Randy Lusk of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Amy Schuder and her husband, Mark, of Covington, Va., Abby Callison and her husband, Brian, of Renick, Tiffany Cook of Kopperston, Trey Brunty of Matheny and Paige Walker and her husband, Dustin, of Kopperston; great-grandchildren, Noah and Destiny Schuder, KayLee and Jacob Callison, Gavin Cook, Alex Brunty, Rylee and expected addition Karlee Walker; a brother, Russell Cook of Davin; and several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and a host of special friends, including: Rhonda Loving and Pam Cook, who were like daughters to her.

A celebration of Easter’s life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Oceana United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stanley Lowrey and Rev. Melissa White officiating. Entombment will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny.

Friends may gather with the family from noon until time of service Saturday at the church.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
