Romie Clayton Belcher

QUINWOOD — Romie Clayton Belcher, 83, of Quinwood, joined his loving wife in rest to await the return of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, Oct. 6, 2013, following a short illness.

Born July 1, 1930, in Wanego, W.Va., he was the son of the late Joseph “Jink” and Jessie McIntosh Belcher.

Romie was truly a man of God and God blessed him throughout his entire life. He served in the army in Korea during the Korean War, fighting for our country along side his twin brother. After the war, he returned home and spent his life as a coal miner, loving and devoted husband, and one of the best dads one could ever ask for. Romie was also a very important member of his little family church, The Advent Christian Church, in Quinwood. There was nothing more important to him than his church, his God, and his family. He was truly a special man that will be missed beyond measure.

Words cannot genuinely express the emptiness that is left in the hearts of all that have loved this great man. However, those who choose to follow the incredible life that he led will surely be blessed. Romie's sweet smile and gentle heart will truly be missed by all who knew him, yet it is certain that he will be seen again by all who know God.

He is survived by his loving son, Michael Belcher, twin brother Clyde Belcher (Loretta), brother Garry Belcher (Ruth), sisters Cora Nutter (Donald), Marcene Angle (Jim), and many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will all miss him dearly.

On Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at 2 p.m., we will celebrate the life of Romie Belcher at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, with Pastors Roy Boyd, Jerold Hamrick and Steve Beard officiating. A graveside service will be held immediately following at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, 16155 Midland Trail, Clintonville. Friends may call Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the ceremony.
